IPS e.max Press are biocompatible lithium disilicate glass-ceramic ingots. They offer the fit, form and function which is expected from pressed ceramics. In addition, they offer improved flexural strength (400 MPa). The IPS e.max concept comprises both the innovative lithium disilicate ceramic material – particularly suitable for single-tooth restorations – and high-strength zirconium oxide material for large-span bridges. In complex restorative cases, the consistent layering protocol and the exact shade match are one of the major advantages of this ceramic system. This is enabled by the fact that only one layering ceramic is required for the entire system.
